“I use vibrant colors because it is a form of therapy. When people look at the colors, I believe it’s going to affect them in a positive way.”
— Sarfo Emmanuel Annor

Bio

Embodying the flourishing wave of young Ghanaian artists, Sarfo Emmanuel has been using his iPhone, the one and only medium he could work with, to shoot enthralling portraits that capture Africa’s contemporary cultural effervescence.

The strong primary and saturated colors act as metaphor for his subjects’ vibrance and optimism, telling the stories of the Ghanaian youth portrayed with everyday objects, from bags to headscarves.
